Build expertise that connects across your career
Pursue a complementary AGILE-HRP credential with a clear professional purpose.

Your responsibilities may grow beyond the scope of your first certification. An additional AGILE-HRP credential can help you pursue a new specialization, address a defined capability gap or demonstrate competencies relevant to broader professional responsibilities.
Choose your next credential with a clear purpose. Consider how it relates to your existing certification, the work you are undertaking and the contribution you want to make. Each credential has its own requirements, and holding an AGILE-HRP certification does not automatically qualify you for another.
When an additional credential may fit your goals
Choose a complementary certification that expands your capabilities and supports your professional goals.
-
Deepen a professional specialization
Develop a more focused capability within your current field. An HR practitioner may wish to concentrate on talent management, workforce analytics or employee experience. Review the relevant credential domains to understand precisely what is assessed.

Connect expertise across functions
Professionals often work across people, strategy and delivery. A complementary credential may help you demonstrate competence in another area that is directly relevant to your responsibilities, such as an HR leader managing a transformation project.

Prepare for broader responsibilities
As your role changes, review the competencies needed to lead larger teams, manage more complex initiatives or advise senior stakeholders. Compare those responsibilities with the scope and requirements of the credential you are considering.

These are planning examples. They do not establish a mandatory sequence, automatic eligibility or an approved exemption between credentials.

Start with a skills gap review
List your existing knowledge and credentials, identify the responsibilities you want to undertake, and compare the difference. Ask whether another certification addresses a specific need or whether focused professional development would be more appropriate at this stage. Choose the pathway that serves your professional objective and that you can maintain responsibly.

Choose your next credential in five steps
A clear process to help you plan, prepare and achieve your next credential.
-
1Define the professional objective
Identify the responsibilities, projects or specialist work for which you want to demonstrate competence.
-
2Compare the credential domains
Review the assessment scope and distinguish new learning from material covered by your existing credential.
-
3Confirm eligibility and evidence
Check the published experience, education and application requirements. Request written confirmation of any proposed recognition of prior learning or exemption.
-
4Plan preparation and assessment
Review available learning formats, study requirements, examination arrangements and the total cost. Confirm what your enrollment includes.
-
5Apply and maintain each credential
Follow the application process for the new certification and continue meeting the obligations of your existing credentials.
Your existing credential provides context about competencies you have already demonstrated. It may help you identify suitable development priorities, but it does not replace the requirements of a different certification. Any recognition of prior learning, transfer arrangement, reduced requirement or fee concession must be specifically confirmed by AGILE-HRP.
Use the exact title and designation of each credential awarded. A combination of certifications does not create a new designation unless AGILE-HRP expressly authorizes it.
Plan for more than the initial assessment
Before applying, consider study time, examination scheduling, renewal dates, development requirements and ongoing costs. Keep a separate record for each credential. Where the rules allow shared professional development, document the activity clearly and confirm how it should be reported.
-
Study and assessment
Be prepared for the learning and assessment process.
-
Fees and inclusions
Review what is included with your certification pathway.
-
Renewal obligations
Understand the ongoing requirements to maintain your credential.
Request guidance on your next certification
Share your current AGILE-HRP certification, professional role, relevant experience, area of interest and reason for pursuing another credential. Include the certification you are considering and any questions about overlap, entry requirements or preparation.
Frequently asked questions
Get quick answers to common questions about obtaining an additional certification.
Must I complete certifications in a fixed order?
Review the prerequisites for the individual credential. Do not assume that all programs form a single progression or that every higher-level credential requires the same earlier qualification.
Can I receive an exemption because I am already certified?
An exemption applies only where AGILE-HRP has expressly confirmed it for the relevant credential and candidate. Ask before enrolling if recognition of prior learning affects your decision.
Can I prepare for two certifications at the same time?
Consider the eligibility, preparation demands and assessment arrangements of both credentials. Pursuing one at a time may be more manageable when the subject matter or workload is substantial.
Will the new credential renew my existing certification?
Do not assume that it will. Each credential remains subject to its own renewal requirements unless a specific arrangement is confirmed.
